Victorian ESC, draft decision on T5 costs
December 2008: The Essential Services Commission has released its draft decision on the purchase and OMR costs of T5s in Victoria. Councils can make submissions on the draft until 31 December 2008.
WA, SEREG councils perform innovative trial of new technologies
December 2008: The City of Armadale has partnered with multiple stakeholder to trial the 42W CFL and 50W twin-arc high pressure sodium lamp. The City of Gosnells is trialling new generation LED lighting but expects further improvements in technology before they can meet standards.
Western Australia, Department of Defence is installing LEDs
November 2008: The Garden Island base has installed the first 330 LED street lights of around 2200 in an attempt to conserve energy and maintenance requirements.
City of Melbourne, Active Reactor trial in the CBD
November 2008: 70 Active Reactors have been installed with new luminaires along Collins Street. Results will be monitored and used to promote wider uptake of the technology
